Ronald Paul Royer, 82 Port Charlotte, Florida May 14, 1943 – May 30, 2025

Ronald Paul Royer, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born on May 14th, 1943, and grew up in Belle Center, Ohio, where he graduated from Belle Center High School. A lifelong learner and dedicated educator, Ron earned his Bachelor of Education from Ohio Northern University and later a Master's degree from Wright State University.

For more than 30 years, Ron served as a beloved teacher and coach at Benjamin Logan High School, where he mentored countless students and athletes. In addition to his career in education, Ron also served as mayor of Belle Center, Ohio, demonstrating his deep commitment to community and civic service.

After retiring in 1996, Ron and his wife relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, where he enjoyed his well-earned retirement, time with family, and the sunny warmth of the Gulf Coast.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Royer; his sister, Marie Orders (Jack); his daughters, Melissa Royer-Griffiths (Alrick) and Emily Royer-Pierron; his grandchildren, Blake Royer, Lauryn Royer, Kayela Royer, Tyler Pierron, Alex Pierron, Cassie Pierron, and Jaeda Griffiths, and his great-grandchildren, Lanaya, Kash, Peyton, Adonis, and Kayden. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Paul Royer, and his siblings, Rita Klinger, Dolores Rockhold, and Steve Royer.

Ron will be remembered for his dedication to education, his love for his family, and the impact he made on the lives of so many. His legacy will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held, in Ohio, at a later date.
