Ron passed away peacefully in his home on February 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on April 29, 1933 to Leland W. Shaw and Ednah M. Wade Shaw.  He has one brother Robert W. Shaw (Marjorie), and was preceded in death by his one sister Barbara Robinson.  He leaves his wife June of 56 years.  He has three children, Ronda L. Moore (Andy) of West Palm Beach, FL, John L. Shaw of Jacksonville, FL, and Erica L. Plazibat of Winter Park, FL.  He has two grandsons, Sergei J. Shaw and Elliot R. Plazibat.  He has many nephews and nieces and always enjoyed their visits to Orlando.

After he graduated from Technical High School in Springfield, MA, he worked as a machinist for Tarbell Watters Co.  He joined the US Army and served 20 months in Korea.  After the war he continued his education at Wentworth Institute in Boston.  He graduated with a degree in Aircraft Mechanics.  He worked for AVCO Corp., who sent him to California on temporary duty.  There he met June and they were married in Santa Maria, California.  Eventually, Ron worked at Lockheed Martin in Configuration Management.  In 1986, he and his family were transferred to Orlando.

After he retired, Ron and June traveled the country in an RV for five summers.  They visited many National Parks and volunteered at Forest Service campgrounds, and visitor centers.  Ron raised many beautiful orchids. He had a pilot's license for light aircraft.  Ron was a runner for many years.  He also loved to hike the trails in the mountains around California.  Fishing for trout in mountain streams was a favorite pastime.  He spent time with his children to show them the wonders of the ocean, the mountains, and the sky.

His remains will be interred in the family plot at Woodland Dell Cemetery in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, where he played as a child.
