In Loving Memory of Ronald Peter Trendle

Ronald Peter Trendle, born on June 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, lived a life defined by service, integrity, adventure, and unwavering devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of honor, humility, and countless cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

Ronald earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting from Loyola University, launching a distinguished career as a financial accountant in the finance industry. Throughout his professional life, he was respected for his honesty, wisdom, humbleness, and strong values. His integrity and unwavering work ethic earned the admiration of colleagues, friends, and family alike.

A proud patriot, Ronald honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Specialist E-5. His courageous and dedicated service was recognized with the Bronze Star, one of the nation's highest military honors. Ronald was immensely proud to have served his country and remained a proud Vietnam Veteran throughout his life.

Ronald shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Trendle, building a life centered on faith, love, and family. Together they made their home in The Villages, Florida.

Beyond his career, Ronald embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed friendly competition on the bocce courts. He had a lifelong passion for model trains and loved the adventures of sailing and scuba diving. A voracious reader of history, Ronald possessed an extraordinary memory and delighted in sharing historical stories and life experiences. He was an entertaining storyteller whose infectious smile and quick wit brought laughter wherever he went.

A devoted sports enthusiast, Ronald faithfully cheered for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Twins, rarely missing an opportunity to follow his favorite teams.

His faith was an important part of his life. Ronald was a faithful volunteer at Eagan United Methodist Church, where he generously gave his time in service to others and exemplified the values he lived by every day.

He was the beloved son of Michael Trendle and Gertrude Johanna Trendle, whose love and guidance helped shape the remarkable man he became.

Ronald is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Susan Trendle of The Villages, Florida; his sons, Christopher (Tracy) Trendle of Third Lake, Illinois, and Bradley Trendle of Eagan, Minnesota; his granddaughter, Samantha Trendle of Third Lake, Illinois; and his grandson, Tommy (daughter, April) Trendle of Chicago, Illinois.

He is also survived by his sister, Michele (the late Raymond) Keller of Aurora, Illinois; his brothers, Edward (the late Glenna) Trendle of Bridgeview, Illinois, Joseph (Dorothy) Trendle of Chicago, Illinois, and William (Ann Marie) Trendle of Aurora, Illinois; his brothers-in-law, Tom (the late Ann) Cassell of The Villages, Florida, and Frank (the late Paulette) Cassell of Lexington, Kentucky; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Marie (the late Peter) Baraban of Chicago, Illinois; his brothers, Michael (Mary) Trendle of Chicago, Illinois, and George (Mardi) Trendle of Hinesburg, Vermont.

Above all else, Ronald was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart, remarkable wisdom, unwavering integrity, and genuine kindness. His ability to make others laugh, his thoughtful conversations, and his steadfast example of humility and service enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His legacy of faith, family, patriotism, and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
