Ronnie T Reese of Port Charlotte, FL passed away peacefully on January 7, 2023. Ronnie's fighting spirit battled his congestive heart failure for 24 years. Ronnie was the beloved husband of Patricia (Doyle) Reese. They married on May 30, 1980 and were soulmates to the end. Ronnie was born on December 18,1946 in Tullahoma Tennessee to the late Homer T and Frances (Shoemake) Reese. The family moved to Illinois when he was a child, where he attended schools in Peoria. He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Britt) Saunier of North Port, FL; Lisa Reese of Peoria, IL and son Travis Reese of Bloomington, IL. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Tony (Kathy) Reese; Rick Reese & Junior (Cheryl) Reese all of Peoria, IL along with 2 sisters, Sandra Reese of Cape Coral, FL & April Reese of Peoria, IL. He is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Cathy Cline & Lori (Steve) Ross & 2 brothers-in-law, Roger Doyle & John (JL) Doyle. Ronnie had 11 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren along with countless nephews & nieces. Even when not in contact with his large, extended family, he loved them all deeply. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Terry & Jim Reese along with a daughter, Tracy Reese and grandson, Nathon Belcher. Ronnie served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence. He was a proud Veteran & always said he got to see the Wonders of the World. He belonged to the American Legion & the VFW. He retired on disability from Comcast Cable where he worked as a cable technician. He did not let that slow him down. He & his wife moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 2002 from Bloomington, IL following his daughter Julie (Britt) Saunier & 2 grandsons Auston & Dalton Saunier who moved to FL the previous year. He enjoyed such a special bond with them and loved them beyond words. He was a sports fanatic and win or lose he loved the Chicago Bears & Cubs. He played the game of Shuffleboard & became a Pro. One year he won the Southern District Masters Tournament & he played in an international tournament. He served as President of the Port Charlotte Shuffleboard Club for 6 years. Ronnie was truly one of a kind that can never be fully described. He loved life & will be missed by all who knew him. Ronnie requested cremation with no services. He wanted everyone to remember him as he was in life.
