Rosalie Bernice Emerson (Barker) 85 of Ft Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, with family at her bedside. Rosalie was living with and lovingly cared for by her daughter April Ritchie and her husband Daniel, due to her debilitating dementia.

Born the only child on April 3, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Louis and Bernice Barker.  She was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and in her retirement, years moved to Ft Myers, Florida to enjoy the sunshine state.  Rosalie lived a long and full life surrounded by her family.  Some of her favorite activities were, playing cards, specifically Canasta and later Hand and Foot.  She loved baking and made cakes & cookies for the retirement homes.   She also loved bingo, and painting ceramics.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Roy L. Emerson.  She is survived by her 5 Children, Richard Emerson of Riviera Beach, Stephanie Rainey and husband David, of Baltimore, Maryland, James (Danny) Bankowski of Baltimore, Maryland, Sandra Bankowski-Anderson and her husband Patrick, of Pasadena, MD, April R. Ritchie and her husband Daniel of Ft Myers, Florida, and 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Friends and Family may join in a Celebration of her Life at 10:00 am Saturday, August 26th at Magothy United Methodist Church, 3703 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122 with coffee and Danishes before and after the service.  Internment graveside at 12:30 pm Loudon Park Cemetery at 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD  21229.   In Lieu of flowers the family suggests that you donate to her cause and many others at Dementia Society of America online https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate .
