Rose Avery's Obituary

Rose Gloria Zummo Scrivano Avery passed away on August 31, 2022, in New Smyrna Beach , FL.

Rose was born on June 27, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York to parents Vito and Frances (nee' Rizzuto) Zummo. Rose came to Volusia County, Florida in 1955 from Brooklyn, New York. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 65 years. Rose retired after 30 years with the Volusia County School Board as a Cafeteria Assistant and 15 years with Sacred Heart Catholic School as an After School Attendant.

Rose is survived by her sons Ronald Scrivano and John Scrivano; her grandchildren Kevin Scrivano (spouse: Kristen) and David Scrivano and her great-grandchildren Lana Scrivano and KJ Scrivano. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vito and Frances, her two brothers Joseph Zummo and Benjamin Zummo.

Rose loved dancing, bowling, great conversations, cooking large meals, her Italian heritage and her many valued friends who have gone before her. Rose adored her two sons and ate up their wisdoms and values learned. Furthermore, nothing was of more value to her than spending time with her grandsons Kevin and David. She became even twice as proud as Lana and KJ came into her life. Her Roman Catholic faith was the primary substance of strength throughout her 92 years.

A mass of remembrance has been made at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June, 27th, 2023 at 8:00 a.m.
