Roy Earle DeMotte, 79, a resident of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on March 17, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1943, in Miami, Florida. Mr. DeMotte is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Glenda, his daughter, Robin Bolack of Denver, Colorado, and his son Randy DeMotte, of Denver, Colorado, his adopted son, Toby and grandson, Jaden, his step-children; Peggy Wood, Tommy, Robert Landress of Lake Worth, Florida, Jeffery Landress of South Carolina, Susan Ferris, of Port Orange, Florida, Roy's two grandsons and two twin great-grandchildren, of Denver, Colorado. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy DeMotte, Sr. and Dorothy (Ward) Bayne, and his sister, Frances Scott, of Tampa, Florida. Roy went to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Florida until he graduated in 1963 with skill of printing from Vocational School, then Roy was hired to work at Rock Mountain Newspaper Company as a printer in Denver, Colorado for 27 years and retired. He moved back to his favorite home state of Florida and married Glenda Harper on February 21, 1992. Roy at LPGA Golf as a Greenskeeper for 18 years. Roy was much involved with the golfing, bowling, and Scuba, when he had his free time and always enjoyed the games. He was elected as President of Palm Beach County Association, Inc of the Deaf from 1993-1994. He was a fine guy with a sense of humor and was generous. Everyone will miss him very much. Roy was a member of the Greater Daytona Beach Association for the Deaf where he was President from 1996-1998, he really enjoyed socializing with his many friends. Roy was the co-founder of the National Deaf Golf Association in 1980, where he was President for two years. He attended all the NDGA events from 1980-2000. He was the Men's Open Champion, SWDGA in 1996, active with Florida Deaf Golf Association for 7 years, Treasurer of FDGA for 10 years, President of FDGA for 6 years, SEDGA for 31 years. Roy loved golf and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We love him very much.
