Richmond Tanner Atkins, born on August 31, 1998, tragically passed away on February 25, 2026. Tanner was an outstanding and highly respected athlete, known for his exceptional talent and dedication in sports. He attended Brentwood Academy, Nashville Christian School, IMG Academy, and Adamsville High School, where he excelled in all sports, with a particular passion for football.

Tanner is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Debbie Atkins, his brother Hunter Atkins and his wife Allison, and his newly born niece, Luna Atkins. In addition to his athletic prowess, Tanner was an aspiring songwriter who lived for music, expressing his creativity and emotion through his art.

A memorial service will be held for Tanner at Brentwood United Methodist Church on Friday, March 6, at 11 AM. Friends and family are warmly welcome to attend the service, which will take place at the Columbarium Gardens of Brentwood United Methodist Church. Tanner will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the joy and passion he brought to the lives of those around him.
