Obituary

Rudolf H. Kietzmann, known fondly as "Rudy," passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at the age of 86 in The Villages, Florida. Born on December 1, 1938, and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rudy lived a life marked by quiet strength, joyful hobbies, and deep devotion to those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Judith A. Taylor, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership and memories. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Meuer, and her husband, Matt Christian (and Deborah's former husband, Henry Meuer); his son, David Kietzmann, and his wife, Stephanie Kietzmann. His legacy continues through his grandchildren -Heather Meuer and Christopher Meuer, and Christopher's wife, Jaclyn Meuer-as well as his great-grandchildren, Camilla and Cole Meuer.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Rudy served honorably from 1958 to 1960. He built a longstanding career as an automobile mechanic, known for his skill, patience, and work ethic over more than 30 years.

Beyond his career, Rudy's world was filled with the quiet joys of hands-on creativity. He spent hours assembling train sets and playing conductor, finding comfort and wonder in the tracks. He crafted wooden puzzle animals to keep his hands busy and mind sharp. Among the greatest joys of his later years was his move to The Villages, where he found a new rhythm of life and unexpected love in caring for his koi fish-his "babies." His days were brightened by the routine of the pond and the warmth of conversation with his close companion, Patricia Rowlen, at the town square.

A service honoring Rudy's life will be held on August 9, 2025, at 10:00AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages, Florida 32162.

Rudy's was a life of dignity, service, and quiet, enduring affection. We will celebrate him with grace and gratitude, honoring not only what he built with his hands, but what he nurtured with his heart.
