IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rudolph
Patrick
April 26, 1932 – January 30, 2025
Rudolph (Rudy) H. Patrick was born almost 93 years ago in Ohio to Hungarian-Austrian immigrants. He was one of two children. His sister Irene (Pat) just turned 101 in February and still lives on her own in Clearwater, Florida. His mother, Theresa was deaf so he learned sign language and was able to converse fluently with her. His father, Andy moved the family to Safety Harbor, Florida when he was in high school. After graduating, he moved back to Ohio to work for Republic Steel until he joined the Army, spending his years of service abroad towards the end of the Korean War. After returning he married Angeline (Dolly) Capito and lived in Warren, Ohio. They had three children, Lynda (Pecchio, husband Jim), Valerie and Jeffrey (partner, Steve). Three grandchildren, Jimmy and Lisa (Pecchio) and Chris (Shelby, wife Christie) and five great grandchildren, Dylan, Bella and Emma (Pecchio-Schuerger), Jackson and Maya (Shelby). Our Dad had two great passions, besides his family. Golfing and fishing. He actually still owns the course record for Avalon golf course in Warren that he set in 1968. He was also the winner of several amateur golf tournaments and was very well known in the golfing community. A few years later, he bought a boat and enjoyed fishing, crafting his own lures in our basement. After retiring and moving back to Florida with his wife of over 60 years, he became the "leader" of a group of fishing buddies and had a regular fishing schedule.
Everyone talks about his legendary dry sense of humor and how laid back he was. He loved learning new things & creating new recipes. Listening to his stories of his past was so special. Watching him take care of our Mom who had Alzheimer's is a beautiful memory.
He will be greatly missed by all.
