Russell James Cashman passed away with his wife and family at his side on Sunday morning, June 30, 2019, after a short illness at the age of 81 in Cape Coral, Florida. He was born November 10, 1937 in West Simsbury, CT, to the late Earle and Mildred (Glidden) Cashman.

Russell is survived by his wife, Kathy.  They were married on May 24, 2014 in a ceremony at their home.

Russell is survived by his sons Michael (Ellen) Cashman of Cincinnati, OH; Patrick (Debbie) Cashman of Torrington; and Christopher Cashman also of Torrington; and his daughter Ellenmary (Joseph) Arias of West Warwick, RI; and their mother Mary H. Cashman of Torrington.  He is survived by three grandchildren, Gregory (Bianca) Cashman of Carbondale, IL; Emily Cashman of Cincinnati, OH; and Micayla Cashman of Torrington.  He also has 4 step-grandchildren: JoAnna, Elana, Tori, and Amber.  Three of Russell's natural siblings also survive him; Geraldine Thompson, of Vermont; Dee DuQuesnay of Rhode Island; and Frank Cashman, of Connecticut.  Russell also leaves behind Kathy's children, Kenneth, Kim, Keith, John, and 10 grandchildren.

Russell was pre-deceased by his foster parents Theodore and Martha Litwin of Litchfield.  He is survived by his foster sisters and brother, Sandy (John) Santa Maria of Torrington; Mary (Michael) Blair of Seattle, WA; and Peter (Eileen) Litwin of Litchfield.  Russell was always grateful for the support and loving home Ted and Martha Litwin provided for him as a young teenager.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a future date.
