Russell C. Deitz, age 96, passed away in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on June 28 ^th, 2022.

He is survived by his daughters and their families including grandchildren and great-grandchildren- Linda and Dan Canavan, Theresa and Tom Meyer, Maureen Deitz, Patricia D. Hall; Dan and Stacy Canavan and their children Danny, Sage and Siena; Megan and Bill Nicholas and their children Owen and Maeve; Derek and Candice Stern; Victoria Regina Tilton; Taylor Hall as well as a sister, Margaret Cooney and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He is preceded in his passing by his wife of 57 years, Alice V. Deitz, his parents Vasil and Terka (Tessie), and siblings Mary, Katherine, Anna, Helen, Theresa, Martha, Nicholas, and Joseph.

Russell was born in Pennsylvania on January 12 ^th , 1926, and then moved to New York City with the family. He worked as an ornamental iron welder and could fix all things mechanical and otherwise. He enjoyed time at the lake in Connecticut with family, relatives, and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, willingness to help fix anything for friends and family, his spaghetti and hot dogs, and his love of sweets.

A mass will be held in his honor and memory in New Smyrna Beach at a later date.

His family would like to thank all of those who have expressed their kindness and condolences.
