Ruth (Aidinoff) Elkind, 94, passed away peacefully on October 29th 2026 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Ruth was born on April 30th 1932 in Newport, Rhode Island and eventually moved to sunny South Florida in 1982 where she lived for over 40 years. She spent the last few years of her life in New Smyrna Beach. Ruth enjoyed gardening, baking, family dinners, soaking up sunshine and especially shopping! Ruth was as loving as she was firm, and everyone who met Ruth enjoyed her wit and spunkiness, even in her final days.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Elkind and her brother Bernie, sister Judy and son in law Jerry. Ruth is survived by her five children and their spouses, Debbie (Paul) Niman, Stephen (Vilma) Lilla, Kimmy (Dave) Forshey, Sandie Pimental and Darren (Kristine) Elkind. Ruth adored her grandsons Joshua, Aaron, Edward, Zachary, Caleb and her granddaughter Peyton. Ruth also had five great grandchildren.

The family welcomes those who loved “Ruthie” to celebrate her life at a service commencing at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday November 28, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1 North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach. A light reception will immediately follow the service at Riverpark Terrace Restaurant located at 302 S. Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach.
