It is with great sadness that we announce our mom, Ruth E. Matwijkow (nee Bobsein) 84 years young, has passed away on December 27, 2020. She leaves behind six children, John (Cheryl), Jean Davis, Gary, Joyce Gostomski (Rob), Janet, and David, a sister Louise Thomas, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is predeceased by a son Gerald, a sister Claire Bobsein and her long-time partner Les Garlock. Her joy in life came from gardening and tending to her many plants and helping other people as she had a giving nature. After moving to Florida from Eden, N.Y. she and Les became very active in their homeowners association, bowling, community club activities and driving for crime watch in their neighborhood. A future memorial has yet to be planned. Donations may be sent to Hospice of Marion County Florida.
