Ruth Laverne McGinnis, 86, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 1:50PM at home in Edgewater, Florida.

Born January 2, 1931, in Litchfield, IL, she was the daughter of Henry and Meta Wempen of Raymond, IL. She married Harry Eldon McGinnis September 4, 1948 in Raymond, IL.

She was a farmer's wife and member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Edgewater; lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star; former Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son James and his wife Linda, Port Orange; a daughter Cathy, Edgewater; six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her daughter Carliene, in infancy, and a grandson, Aaron.

Funeral services will be held at Edgewater United Methodist Church, Edgewater, Florida on January 14th at 6:00PM with the Pastor Gary Tarleton officiating.
