Sam Catino, 96, of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on Mar 4th, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Clorinda. They have been residents of The Villages for over 22 years. Sam enjoyed many years of playing golf as a Villager. He is survived by his eldest son Patrick of W. Webster, NY, his wife Joy and children Cassandra, Danielle & Kevin, and youngest son Dennis of Flagler Beach, FL, his wife Susan and children Jason, Jonathan, Candace Galvin & Kristen Nye. He is also survived by the family of his son Anthony Catino (deceased). Wife Mary Catino and children Hannah, Bridget and Reed and five great grandchildren: Tony, Matteo, Thomas, Joseph and Archie. Sam was born in town of San Mango sul Calore in Avellino, Italy Sep 26, 1922 to Pasquale and Virginia Boccuzzi Catino. He was a US Navy WWII veteran and as a Seaman First Class was awarded the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Sam's ashes will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. A Celebration of Life Memorial will held this Spring. Details will be forthcoming.
