Sally Cusick's Obituary

Sally O'Donohue Cusick passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 12, 2018 and is safely in the hands of the Lord and  in the company of her dear son , Rick, who passed away in August 2016.   Sally was born in St. Louis, Mo. on Nov. 11 1928,  the daughter of Charles "Chick" and Louise Cusick. She considered herself a Texan as she grew up there and attended the Hockaday School.  She then went on to the University of Illinois, where she met the love of her life, Joe Cusick.  They were married in 1950 and lived in several places from St. Louis, to Indiana, finally relocating to Orlando in 1968.  Sally was an adored mother, mother in law,  and grandmother to her three children, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She had many cherished friends in her life and touched so many others  along the way.  Her volunteer work of 30 + years with the Pink Lady Auxiliary  was a testimonial to her desire to give back.   From her leadership roles at the Council of 101 to her many responsibilities at the Country Club of Orlando including the Chairmanship  of the Debutante Ball for many years, her love of community was always strong.  She was a fine athlete, and a fierce competitor, and was the Ladies Club Champion of the  Orlando Country Club for many years.  Sally was an incredibly creative person as exhibited in her paintings , sewing, and multiple homes she designed and contracted from the ground up.  She was always a bright spot in the room, and we will all feel a sense  of loss at her passing.  The world is just a little more empty these days, and we're just so glad to have known her.  Sally is survived by her devoted husband, Joe, of  almost 69 years….Children, Chick Cusick, Debbi Cusick and Kathy Yeoman(Brian), Grandchildren Sarah, Dean, Morgan (Ryan), Ryan(Harrison), Kylie (Craig), Cortney (Andrew), Collin, Brandon and Katelyn and 3 great grandchildren. In God's Hands Now but always in our hearts.
