Samuel Murry Buzard, 82, of North Port, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Sam was born in Nitro, West Virginia on July 4, 1941, to the late Harry B Buzard and Ethel Geraldine Deucher Buzard.

In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his brother, Harry B. Jr, and in-laws, Eloise and Ralph, Larry, Terry, and Candy.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Susan Carnes Buzard; daughter, Julie Cay Buzard and wife Carol Taylor of Grove City, Ohio; in-laws, Wayne Carnes and Judi Anselmo; many cherished nieces and nephews; special family friends, Sue Davis, Joanne Garwood, Carol Waters, Denise Boldman, Tasha Garcia; nurse extraordinaire, Tracy Whiteaker; and several other friends and family.

Sam enjoyed breeding and racing thoroughbred horses and he was a huge sports fanatic, watching any sport that was on TV and always cheating on his NCAA brackets with his daughter. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family, taking friends out to dinner, holding Barbara's hand, and calling Julie every morning ("plan your work and work your plan"). He will be dearly missed, but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Sam always told people the Fourth of July fireworks and parades were in celebration of his birthday.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date with a family lead parade and maybe even a few fireworks.
