IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra "Sandy"
Archer
December 8, 1942 – January 2, 2024
Sandra "Sandy" Dian Archer, 81, of North Fort Myers, passed away on January 2, 2024, in Cape Coral, Florida.
Sandy was born in Crossville, Tennessee, to William and Bertha "Rose" Morris on December 8, 1942. She attended elementary school in Tennessee before moving to Ohio where she graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School in 1960.
Sandy worked in a range of roles during her lifetime – from the manufacturing line at National Cash Register to the purchasing department at Mead Corporation to bartending at the China Girl to serving up fashion and decorating tips and sales at Woodbourne Gallery. If you were to ask Sandy's co-workers what they remembered most about her, they would have certainly noted her work ethic, as well as her keen wit and propensity for shenanigans. Sandy married Timothy Archer in May of 1980 in Ohio where they ultimately launched Tim's business, Softview Systems, which Sandy would help Tim run until his passing in 2015. Sandy was renowned for her cooking prowess and found great joy in feeding others and cracking the code on her favorite recipes. Who can forget her crab cakes, homemade pickles, cookies of all types, and homemade limoncello. When others might have been daunted by turning 50, Sandy reinvented herself yet again and became a certified aerobics instructor, attending national conferences and teaching classes in step aerobics. Not one to be limited to the kitchen or gym, Sandy was an incredible seamstress who developed her own signature bamboo handbags and did fine beadwork making complex beautiful jewelry for herself and friends.
While Sandy never had biological children of her own, she was Fairy Godmother, Aunt Sandy, Grandy, and more to not just children in her own family but friends, near and far. Always remembering birthdays, favorite foods, funny memories, and making time to play a game or go shopping – Sandy was many things to many people and always up for a good time. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Archer, and her brother, David Morris. She is survived by her nephew Zachary Morris and his children, Jonathan and Sebastian Morris, as well as her stepson, Christopher Archer and his children, Jonathan and Michael Archer, her goddaughter, Karla Childers, and a wide-ranging network of friends and fans who will miss her dearly.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. EST followed by her Celebration Of Life Service, from 11:00 AM -11:30AM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation Society 290 Nicholas Parkway NW, Unit #19, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
The family of Sandra Archer wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Julia Pfaff for her excellent care of Sandy, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida.
