Obituary

Sandra Claire Jacobs (84) of Longwood, FL passed away Sunday evening June 25, 2023 at The Grove at Trelago surrounded by her children.

Sandy was born in Detroit, MI to Clarence and Helen Buck.  Sandra was one of 3 children, Yvonne, Sandy and Tom.

Sandy spent her life caring for others.  Having lost her father at age 7 she helped raise her younger brother Tom who resides in Dallas, TX today.  Sandy lived in Port Ryerse  Canada as a child until her father passed. At that time her mother moved Sandy and her brother Tom to Buffalo and began working at the famous Peter Stuyvesant Hotel as a hostess.  Sandy and Tom had Sunday dinners in the hotel and during the week ate at the YMCA.  Sandy was very studious in her studies growing up and had a passion for becoming a nurse.

Sandy met her husband Don while living in Buffalo as her brother had become friends with Don during their teenage years.  Sandy started nursing school when she was 18 and her and Don were married before she turned 20.  Sandy worked full time as a nurse and soon after they  started their family. Greg (64), Karen (62), David (58)/ spouse Ellen, Lori (56)/spouse Tony.  Sandy was also blessed with 6 grandchildren, Chris (38), Alexa (26), Caleigh (24), Lauren (20), Anthony (18), and Aaron (18).  Sandy was married for 62 years before her husband passed in 2021.

Sandy loved being a mom and continued nursing until her 3rd child was born.  After raising her family she went back into the work force in the real estate business where the family lived in Longwood, FL  Sandy was a huge success as a Realtor with her engaging smile, bright blue eyes and open heart.  Sandy loved helping people and loved helping her children.  Whether cooking a homemade meal, helping them move, decorating their houses she always had the time for her kids.    Sandy was known for her huge smile and a fresh made platter of homemade cookies.  Sandy loved family gatherings and would always host the holiday festivities in her home.  Nothing made her happier than to make a meal from scratch and spend weeks preparing for these festivities.

The family is having a private service on Sunday July 16 at Glen Haven Memorial Park to celebrate Sandy's life.
