Scott Raymond Warren, age 72, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026.
Born in Reno, Nevada, Scott proudly dedicated 30 years of his life to serving his country in the United States
Air National Guard, retiring in 2004 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). Throughout his
distinguished military career, he received several meritorious and overseas service medals in recognition of his
dedication, accomplishments, and commitment to his country.
Scott was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He proudly served as a Master Instructor for
the State of Nevada’s Hunter Education Program, sharing his knowledge, experience, and passion for the
outdoors with others.
He had a deep love for music, especially playing the guitar, and built an impressive collection of guitars over
the years. He was also a passionate football fan, with an extensive collection of sports memorabilia and
professionally signed NFL football helmets.
Scott will be remembered for his strength, determination, sense of humor, and the many interests that brought
him joy throughout his life. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he shared and the precious time he
spent with his family and close friends. Those relationships meant so much to him and were among the greatest
joys of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Warren of Lehigh Acres, Florida; his loving daughter, Valeri Fye
(Kile) of Sparks, Nevada; his son by heart, Carlos Barboza (Emily) of Brooksville, Florida; his sons,
Christopher Warren and Timothy Warren (Caitlin), both of Reno, Nevada; and his five grandchildren,
including his cherished granddaughters, Zoey Fye and Paislee Barboza.
He is also survived by his brother, James Urmston (Lori), and sister, Susan Urmston, both of Reno, Nevada; his
aunt Betty and cousin Amy; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Marlene Besdansky of Morris Plains,
New Jersey; and his brother-in-law, William Muñoz (Venus Siandre) of Roseland, New Jersey, along with
several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Scott also leaves behind numerous cherished friends, including several lifelong friendships dating back to
childhood—a beautiful testament to the lasting bonds he formed, the lives he touched, and how deeply he is
loved.
And, of course, he leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Doodle and Yogi, his faithful companions who brought
him endless love, comfort, and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwayne Raymond Warren and Louise Martha Folsom Ardrey
(Edward Folsom); his brother, John Urmston; his beloved grandson, Noah Fye; his nephew, Tony Waage;
and his aunt Barbara. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Sammy and Deike, who held a special
place in his heart.
In accordance with his wishes, Scott will be cremated and laid to rest with military honors at the Northern
Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in conjunction with his military funeral, allowing family and
friends to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
His legacy of service, strength, friendship, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough
