Sharon A. Laakkonen, 76, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from Toms River High School South. She attended Albert Einstein nursing school and enjoyed working a long career in the medical field. She married Victor Laakkonen and they celebrated 56 anniversaries together. Sharon is survived by Victor and their son, Keith Laakkonen (Katie) of Naples, FL; sister Charlene Dolan (James) of Toms River, NJ, brother Michael Degnan (Christine) of Louisville, KY, brother Thomas Degnan (Darcy) of North Ft Myers; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon is predeceased by her parents, William Degnan Sr. and Gertrude Degnan (Reynolds), her brother William Jr., and sister Michele Beams. All who knew Sharon experienced her love of storytelling, baking, crafting, and laughing. A memorial service to honor her life will take place and will be announced to family and friends.
