Sheila M. Murphy age 71 wife of Michael Murphy of Ocala, Florida passed away Wednesday August 9th at Marion County Hospice's Cates House in Ocala.
Born February 26, 1952 in Cheektowoga, New York, she was the daughter of the late Dean E. and Reta (Spaulding) Phillips.
Sheila attended Coxsackie-Athens High School and in later years Hudson Valley Community College. Her high school years were spent in Hannacroix, NY and later in Niskayuna, NY, Glenville, NY, then onto Ocala Florida.
Sheila was known for the love she had for her dogs, children, grandchildren and dear friend Rosemarie Gerardi. Sheila and Rosie traveled to many places together including Ireland and Hawaii.
Sheila also loved to bowl and became quick friends with her teammates Alison and Mike Caron along with many others in the Western Stars league. Her bond with Alison was further solidified by their shared love for horses and went horse riding together. Her energy was that of resolute love and caring impacting those who came to know her.
Sheila leaves behind her husband Michael of Ocala, daughters Deana (Jaime) of Albany, NY, Melissa Leto of Niskayuna, NY and son Phillip (Julie) of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, granddaughters Sheila Weidman of Los Angeles, Ca, Melody Datri of Surprise, NY, Adeline and Claire Murphy of East Greenwich, Rhode Island and grandson Cristiano (Cowboy) Leto of Niskayuna, NY, her dearest friend Rosemarie Gerardi, her beloved dogs, Joey, Miguel and Nora, the best neighbors you could ever want Bob and Susan whom she shared a special bond with, Wednesday night hand and foot players Lynn and Greg, among many others. She leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to thrive in the stories, memories and resolute love she leaves behind. She will truly be missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 26, 2023 at 1 pm at Baldwin Brothers Cremations, 11250 SW 93rd Court Rd. Suite 300, Ocala, Fl 34481. All are welcome.
