G. Sheila Young, 88, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on October 18, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer, just days before her 89th birthday.

Sheila was a beautiful, strong, and fiercely independent woman whose passion, honesty, and determination defined her life. Never afraid to speak her mind, she had a loving, protective heart, especially for her family. She took great pride in her home, her children, and the life she built with her beloved husband, Kenneth J. Young, who preceded her in death.

Sheila leaves behind three loving daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Don Gleason, Brenda and Ted Sheridan, and Pamela and Mark Doerr; five grandchildren, K. Greg Wilhoyte, Carolyn Doerr, Andrew Doerr, Lydia Sheridan, and Jessie Sheridan; and one great-grandchild, Decklan Wilhoyte.

Her family will forever cherish her unwavering love, strength, and encouragement to pursue excellence. Her perseverance remained evident until her final days, leaving a lasting example of determination and bravery.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited in God's loving embrace with her beloved husband, parents, sister, and dear friend Cammie.

A private celebration of Sheila's life will be held in St. Petersburg, FL, in the coming year.
