Shirley A. Brundage, 87, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida passed away January 9, 2017.  She was born October 8, 1929, in Daytona Beach, Florida the daughter of the late Catherine Kane McKeown and William Shirley Bowdon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ira S. Brundage and her brothers Eugene Forster Bowdon and Reverend James McKeown. Ms. Brundage is survived by her two sons, Charles H. Breazeale and Eugene S. Breazeale, her daughter Barbara Kate McKeown, and their families. Shirley was an Army Veteran and a retired Librarian who returned to her childhood hometown of New Smyrna Beach in 2000.  She loved the beach, the river and was ever curious about all that life offered.  Shirley was a fun, active, strong lady that cherished her friendships with people of all ages.  She will be greatly missed.  A brief casual memorial service will be held at the Breazeale home at 101 Azalea Circle, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168 on Saturday January 21st  at 4 PM for family and close friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Volusia Humane Society.
