Obituary

Shirley Ann Duprez, 91, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2026.

A loving wife, mother of 8, grandmother of 25, great-grandmother of 25, great-great-grandmother of 4, and friend to many, Shirley devoted her life to her family.

Born on June 15, 1934, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Shirley was the daughter of Loretta Collins and William Hoban. At the age of two, she moved to Prince Edward Island, Canada, where she was lovingly raised by her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Ada (Mahar) Collins. She returned to the United States at age 12 to live with her mother in Billerica, Massachusetts, and graduated from Howe High School at just 16 years old.

After high school, Shirley worked for Raytheon Corporation before dedicating herself to raising her children and caring for her family. In the early 1980s, she returned to the workforce with MITRE Corporation in Bedford, Massachusetts. In 1986, Shirley and her husband moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where she worked as an in-home caregiver for Lee Memorial Health System while also helping to operate the family business, Sky Path Satellite.

Shirley was a dedicated and selfless mother who sacrificed so much to give her children a loving and stable life. Her family was always her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She created countless cherished memories with summers spent at Lake Winnisquam in Belmont, New Hampshire, surrounded by her children and loved ones.

She enjoyed life --- square dancing with her husband and dear friends Bob and Delores Niedbala, card nights playing canasta with friends, bingo games, casino nights, and time spent laughing with family and friends. Shirley had a warm heart, strong spirit, and caring nature that touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Arthur R. Duprez Sr. of Cape Coral, Florida; her children, Kevin Clifford Sr. of Cape Coral, Florida; Jodi Webb of Cape Coral, Florida; Judi Gaudet and her husband Ronald of Merrimack, New Hampshire; Reynold Vienneau of Westford, Massachusetts; Arthur Duprez Jr. and his wife Barbara of North Fort Myers, Florida; her brother, Thomas Waugh and his wife Lillian of Fort Myers, Florida; as well as, many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and dear friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her grandparents, Dennis and Ada (Mahar) Collins; her parents, Loretta Collins and William Hoban; her sons, Daniel Landry, Ralph Landry, and Steven Landry; her cousin, Dennis Waugh Sr. and her aunt, Mary Gertude Collins Waugh.

Shirley’s love, strength, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, sacrifice, laughter, and unconditional love that will continue through generations.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the care of Baldwin Brothers Cremation Society. Shirley was a communicant of St. Katharine Drexel Parish of Cape Coral, Florida.\
