Shirley Hollingsworth, 97, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 30, 2026, and was reunited with her beloved husband, Doyle Hollingsworth, after 19 years apart.

The eldest of seven children, Shirley lived a radiant life defined by her deep faith, generosity and devotion to her family. Growing up during the Great Depression, she knew hunger and this shaped her giving spirit and drive to make sure everyone had enough to eat physically and spiritually.

Shirley and Doyle devoted much of their lives to Christian ministry, serving as missionaries in Cayman Brac and ministering in churches in Florida and Georgia. Her love of Scripture continued throughout her life, including creating comprehensive verse-by-verse studies of the entire Bible and hosting Bible studies in her home for nearly two decades after Doyle’s passing.

Shirley loved her family deeply and enjoyed baking, feeding animals, working puzzles, and spending time with those she loved. The cakes she made for others were made from love and not obligation. Her joy came from giving.

Shirley leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and generosity. Her family finds comfort knowing that she and Doyle are together again in the presence of the Lord and she is now joyfully casting her many crowns at the feet of her Savior.
