Shirlla Ann Cuscaden passed away peacefully at the age of 91 in Ft. Myers, FL on September 17th, 2026.

Shirlla was born on August 28th,1935 in Carbondale, PA. She met the love of her life, Michael F. Cuscaden, at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. They married within a year of meeting each other on September 24th,1955 in NJ. She is survived by her three daughters, Kara Cuscaden, Cathy Kasten (Ken) and Kelly Cuscaden (Peter). She was the beloved "Nana" to Joshua Cuscaden (Belen), Caden McMillan, and Haley Holtz. She was also the beloved "Great Nana" to Matteo, Oliver and Maya Cuscaden. She was Blessed with a recent visit from them prior to her passing.

Shirlla was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael F. Cuscaden, and her daughter, Kimberly Cuscaden.

Shirlla and Michael moved to Sanibel, FL in 1998 and spent many joyful years living there. Early in their marriage, vacations began there before the construction of the causeway to the island. Shirlla was very involved with St. Michael's for many years serving on the Altar Guild, ECW Board and a passionate volunteer at Noah's Ark. She was an avid "sheller" and served for years as a docent at the National Bailey Matthews Shell Museum. She was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain, so many holidays were shared by family and friends at their island home.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date this Fall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the National Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum in Shirlla's memory.
