Massey, Sidney Joseph, age 81, passed peacefully surrounded by family in his home in Edgewater, FL, on Monday, November 20, 2023. Sid was born in Flint, MI on September 28, 1942, to the late Moses and Alice (McManus) Massey. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1960. He enlisted in the Air Force and served four years as an Aircraft Mechanic and C-130 Crew Chief. He later retired from General Motors after 32 years as a Tool & Die Maker. He was a passionate golfer, with a hopefully gentle slice (4 hole-in-ones!), card player, and Master Wood Craftsman. He loved to travel and spend time on the water. Sid is survived by his loving wife Erika of 18 years, daughter Nicole Neswold and husband Michael, of Longwood FL, stepson Matthew Dunlop and wife, Kelly of Pickerington OH, stepson Dan Jamison and wife Joyce of Fredrick MD, and 8 grandchildren. His cheerful attitude, quick wit, contagious laughter and love of his family and friends will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Halifax Health Hospice SHT who lovingly cared for Sid in his final months. Private services will be held at a later time.
