Stephen Richard Briggs (67) of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on May 4 ^th , 2018. Stephen was born on October 22, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Patricia Briggs. As he was growing up, Stephen swam for Cousino Senior High where he graduated in 1968. A very patriotic man, he joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. One of Stephen's favorite things to do in life was watching sports, especially the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Detroit Red Wings. He had a real love of classic rock, his favorites were Lynyrd Skynyrd and Pink Floyd. Above all though, Stephen's most favorite thing on the planet were his grandchildren and family cookouts.

Stephen is predeceased by his father, Robert Worden Briggs, and a brother-in-law whom he loved like they were blood-related, Michael Dean Miller.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Theresa Briggs (Kaltz); by his children: Heather Skinner, Robert Ray Briggs, Walter Briggs, and Zora Horne; by his sisters, Rachel McDaniel and Kathleen Briggs; and by his adored grandchildren: Kayla Emslie, James Skinner, Stephen Skinner, Helen Skinner, Riley Harper, Kristopher Briggs, Stephen Briggs, Aliciella Margo Briggs, and Izabella Horne.
