On Monday, December 11, 2018, Stephen Dale Griffin entered heaven after a valiant 7-year cancer battle.

Steve was born in Miami, the third of six children. He graduated from Texas Christian University majoring in English, followed by two years in the Missionary Journeyman Program, serving in Zambia. In 1977 he married his love Edna Marie (Meklin), beginning their life together in Pennsylvania so that he could attend seminary. Steve worked hard and graduated five years later with a Masters in Divinity and two children. He was the class president and the senior sermon award recipient. He was a lifelong student of the Word and was particularly drawn to studying Biblical Hebrew and Greek. Steve was a passionate servant of the God he loved. The family grew as their path lead to serving in Boston for five years and then on to New Hampshire. He retired to the Villages for his health and has ministered God's love and grace to many. Steve was a dedicated facilitator of The Villages prostate cancer support group and was a part of the Live Oaks Church family.

Steve leaves behind his treasured sojourner in life of 41 years, and his children Joshua, Suzanne (daughter in law), Simka, Ryan, and Shira. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Benjamin, Nathaniel, and Josiah.

There will be a celebration of life for Steve on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Live Oaks Community Church in Oxford at 2:00 PM.
