IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven G.
Duncan
September 21, 1963 – February 13, 2025
Steven G. Duncan, a pizza connoisseur and the life of the party, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 13, 2025, after a 13 year battle with prostate cancer.
Steve was beloved by his family and friends and known for his caring nature, dry humor and quick wit. He is sorely missed by his wife Patricia (Walton) Duncan, his daughter, Sarah Duncan, his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Duncan and Eloise, his sister, Donna (Duncan) Driscoll, as well as his loving in-laws and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Florida and Massachusetts. Steve was predeceased by his parents, John and Patricia (Galiano) Duncan, and his brother, John Duncan Jr.
Steve was born in 1963 and raised in North Weymouth, MA. Steve was a hard worker, often holding multiple jobs while also working at his family's pizza and sub shop, Little Italy. It was there that he mastered his pizza-making skills and later drove him to become a keen pizza critic. As a child, Steve's family camped each summer in Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth, MA with his extended family. While he never really loved the outside aspect, he loved spending time with his many cousins and having fun.
Steve attended Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA and then began his long career at the U.S. Post Office. Later in life, he developed a passion for graphic design and completed his degree.
In 1997, Steve moved away from the snow to sunny Florida with his wife Pat and 6 month old daughter, Sarah. There, his family grew with the addition of their son, Andy. Steve cherished his time with his family and his growing circle of friends in Florida. He was a fun and devoted father, attending all of their academic and sporting events throughout the years. Steve was deeply involved in these activities and used his creativity, photography, and graphic design skills to create posters, tshirts, and photo collages for all players and his portfolio also included yearbooks, flyers and logos. He was so proud of his children and the incredible individuals they've become, often sharing his proud papa moments.
Steve loved traveling and especially enjoyed his visits "up north". Heading back to Massachusetts every summer, making his annual "Tour of Weymouth" where he drove his old paper route, reminisced about the neighborhood and named every customer along the way. He also enjoyed spending many summers at Ezekiel pond in Plymouth with family and friends. Other memorable vacations included traveling to Washington D.C., Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Hollywood, and Virginia. In 2024, Steve and his family traveled to England to celebrate Andy and Eloise's wedding, and while in Europe explored Spain, France, and Italy, finally crossing those off his bucket list.
Steve was an avid Boston Bruins fan, loved listening to music, 70s and 80s Rock, attending concerts, watching SNL and playing cribbage with formidable opponents. He treasured quality time with family, friends and his pets. In recent years, Steve became a great cook of many dishes that he would never taste. He really enjoyed cooking for others and having dinner ready before his family arrived home. His favorite food was, of course, pizza or anything that could be smothered in ketchup.
Steve had a huge heart that loved fiercely and gave freely, and he will leave an unforgettable legacy behind for all who knew him. For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Steve, please consider these charities important to him and his family:
