Steven Eugene Logsdon, 74, of Cape Coral, Florida died August 29, 2026.

Steven was born on August 27, 1952, in Gary, Indiana, to Ray and Beulah (nee Steele) Logsdon. He graduated from Portage High School in Portage, Indiana.

In 1980, Steven moved to Immokalee, Florida, where he began working as a Corrections Officer at Hendry Correctional Institution. He remained there for nearly 25 years.

Steven found great fulfillment in his work in corrections. That dedication became part of his family’s story as well, as his wife and daughters also served in various roles within the corrections system.

Steven is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth (nee Robertson) Logsdon; his daughters, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Jessica; his granddaughter, Lili Rose; his sister, Alice Smiley; and his brother, Donald Logsdon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Beulah Logsdon, and his sister, Helen Pedro.

Steven was a great family man and a loving father. He married Ruth in May 1991. Steven had 3 children from a previous marriage which Ruth gladly adopted after his first wife passed, per her request.

Steven was a social, active man who remained deeply committed to his work until health issues forced him to retire in 2006. He enjoyed playing computer games, reading, and spending time with his family. His family and friends will remember him as fun-loving and friendly.

Ruth and the family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral for the compassionate care they provided to Steven.

They are also deeply grateful for the support and comfort offered to the family during this difficult time.
