Obituary

Stuart Robert Grossberg, affectionately known as "Stu," passed away on June 19, 2026, at the age of 76. A resident of Dunnellon, Florida, Stuart was born on July 7, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York.

Stuart was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, loyalty, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Raised in New York, he later built a successful career as a financial analyst, working for Olin and Xerox. He earned his Bachelor's degree from New York University and went on to complete his Master's degree at the University of New Haven, reflecting his lifelong dedication to learning and hard work.

Although his career was important to him, Stuart's greatest pride was always his family. He cherished the years spent with loved ones in Connecticut, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Whether it was a weekend trip to a local fair, sharing a home-cooked meal, or simply spending time together, he found his greatest joy in being with family.

Stuart had a passion for golf, loved going to the movies, enjoyed cooking, and had a special place in his heart for dogs—especially his beloved grand-dog, Teddy. Whether he was enjoying a round of golf with friends or preparing a meal for those he loved, he appreciated life's simple pleasures and the people who shared them with him. Those who knew Stuart will remember his quiet generosity and dependable nature. He had a remarkable way of always being there when someone needed him, often showing up without being asked and never expecting anything in return. His thoughtful actions spoke far louder than words ever could.

One of his daughters' favorite memories was bedtime. Stuart would sit down to read a story, only to fall asleep before it was finished, leaving his daughter to tuck herself in for the night. It became one of the family's most treasured stories—a perfect reflection of his warmth, comfort, and wonderfully endearing personality.

Stuart is lovingly survived by his daughters, Alyson Grossberg of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and Stacie Grossberg of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Sandy Grossberg of Bluffton, South Carolina; his sister, Joni Grossberg of Loudon, Tennessee; his nieces, Lauren Grossberg Carlucci of New City, New York, and Amy Grossberg McLoughlin of Jersey City, New Jersey; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Morris Grossberg and Ruth Abel Grossberg.

Stuart's legacy lives on through the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the countless ways he quietly showed up for the people he cared about. His gentle heart, unwavering support, and steadfast devotion to family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

The family is grateful for the love, support, prayers, and kind expressions of sympathy received during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Stuart's memory.
