Obituary

Sue Baumgardner Barrowman, age 91, was born in 1923 at the Stuart Circle Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Her parents were the late TC Baumgardner (Erwin, TN) and the late Lutishia Hord Baumgardner (Kings Mountain, NC). Sue attended grammar school in Erwin. She graduated from Unicoi County High School in 1940 and attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Erwin, TN. Sue began her working career as a bookkeeper in Elkhorn City, Ky. She was later employed by Seminole Memorial Hospital as a lab technician in Sanford, FI. and retired from the Brevard County Schools as a bookkeeper at Apollo Elementary School in Titusville. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ted Barrowman, in 1999. She and Ted were married 54 years prior to his death. In her leisure time Sue enjoyed camping, bridge, making "scrubbies" and watching her sons play basketball, baseball and softball. She was also known to accept all of her son's friends into her home and treated them as her own. Many still consider her their second Mom. She enjoyed being around her grandkids and great grandkids. She always had a smile for you and a "scrubbie", She was famous for her meatballs and pimento cheese at the annual Christmas Eve dinner. She is survived by her sons Thomas (Tim) Barrowman (Janet R), and Stephen T. Barrowman, (Janet C). Also surviving are four grandchildren, Stephanie Felker, Bret Barrowman, Matthew Barrowman and Krista Miller, and four great- grandchildren, Trey, Allie, Kylee and Stephen. Sue was a loving wife, an amazing mother and a friend to all she met. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 28,2015, at 2:30 PM., in the Plantation Manor at 125 Plantation Drive, The Great Outdoors Resort in Titusville, FL. Close family friend Randy Coleman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be designated to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
