Susan Defer, 80, of Ocala, FL, passed away on July 13, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Chicago, IL to her parents, Charles and Florence Armbruster on July 13, 1943. Susan lived most of her life in Chicago, but she later moved to Naples, FL and finally to Ocala, FL. She was a member of the Silver Springs Shores VFW Post #4493 in Candler, FL.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Cathy S. Nichols of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Joseph S. Ferry of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Andrew M. Ferry of Ocala, FL, Ryan M. Konkol of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Evan J. Konkol of Appleton, WI, Austin L. Konkol of Ocala, FL; and 13+ great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Mark Nichols; and 2 brothers.

A memorial service is to be held on August 6, 2023, at the VFW Silver Springs Shores Post #4493, 11100 SE Maricamp Road, Candler, FL 32111 from 1-3pm.
