Susan Eleanor Prescott Petrie, of Belleview, died on January 12, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Les Petrie. She is survived by her sisters, Amelie Prescott of New Orleans, and Rochelle Gerofsky of Ocala, her children, Marshall Prescott of Belleview, and Amélie C. Gubbels of Wayland, Massachusetts, and three grandchildren, Juliette, Camille Grace, and Athena.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland on March 31, 1947, Sue lived in many places from Boston to San Francisco. She moved to Florida in the 1980s where she met and married Les and lived on the shores of Smith Lake.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community. An independent licensed counselor, Sue devoted her time to the mental and emotional health of her patients. She brought joy and light to all those she came in contact with. A poet and a lover of the natural world, she was an Audubon Society member and enjoyed many photography hikes with the local club and communing with the natural world surrounding her home.

Donations may be made to the Audubon Society in her name. A celebration of life gathering will be held at noon on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Smith Lake Beach.
