Jacek, Ted The family of Ted Jacek sadly announce his passing on August 4th, 2020, at age 83. Ted is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Marlene (nee McGuirl); his daughter, Cher (Peter Côté), Montreal, QC; sons Ken (Jenny), Fredonia, WI, and Jeff (Neal Sabin), Chicago, IL; grandchildren James, Katharine (Fred Drolet), Jacqi, Julie (Tyler Best), Sebastian (Casey Ferriter) and Kenton; great-grandchildren Ava and Conner; brother Gus and sister Sarah (Ed) O'Gorman, Saskatoon, SK; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Agatha Deeks (nee Hartman) and Joseph Jacek; sister Madeline (Ron) Erikson; brother-in-law Alan (Susan) Waldie and sister-in-law Jean (nee Bateman) Jacek. Ted was born Theodore James Jacek on Nov. 22, 1936 in Bradwell, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Saskatoon, SK. He graduated from Nutana Collegiate in 1954 and the University of Saskatchewan in 1960. In 1962 he began his 35-year career with Abbott Laboratories. In 1957 Ted met and married Marlene. They lived in Saskatoon and Moose Jaw, SK and began raising their family. In 1969 Dad's career took him and his family first to Montreal, then the USA, Japan and finally suburban Chicago. Upon retirement Ted and Marlene traveled globally and eventually moved permanently to New Smyrna Beach, FL where they continued to enjoy travel, cruises, golf and many social events. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements by Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society. Internment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK, Canada at a future date.
