Obituary

Tennie Jane Minor, 89, of Fort Myers, passed away on Saturday,  September 8, 2018 surrounded by her family.She was born April 24, 1929 in Alva to Willie and Dorothy (Fussell) Blackburn. Tennie graduated from Alva High School in 1947 in a class of only 7. She was  married in 1948 to Chester Minor until his death in 2009. She worked as a Principals Secretary at Fort Myers Junior High for 32 years where she loved and was loved by her school family. Tennie was a life long member of Edgewood Methodist Church.  Her family was most important to her and her home was the  place  for many family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Minor) Hendershot, grandchildren, Shanan (John) Favorite, Darin Hendershot, Brett (Gina) Hendershot, Linette (Daniel) Krumpe. Great-grandchildren, Audrey (Chris) Botterman, Jonathan, Hayden, and Hunter Favorite, Beau, Lily, and Gemma Hendershot, Gavin and Westin Krumpe, and her sister Wilma Mathis, and three of her dearest nieces, Mary (Minor) Futch, Krista (Leo) Johnson , and Amy (Tyler) Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Chester (Bo) Minor, and her parents Willie and Dorothy Blackburn.
Her Memorial Service will be held at Suncoast First Baptist Church, Pastor Dale Blackburn officiating, on Saturday, September 22, at 11 a.m.with Food and Fellowship to follow.  The church address is: 2033 Laurel Lane, North Fort Myers, Fl 33917.
Flowers can be received 2 hours prior to the service at the above address or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice.
