IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa "Terry"
Bongiorno
October 25, 1948 – April 20, 2024
After enduring complications from pneumonia, Terry went to be with our Lord on April 20, 2024.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana, and her family moved to Orlando in 1959. Terry graduated from Bishop Moore High School in 1966 and went on to receive her degree in Business Administration from National Lewis.
Terry is survived by her spouse of 50 years, Joseph M. Bongiorno of Maitland, FL, and her children, Jennifer A. Bongiorno of Melbourne, FL, and Dr. Joseph M. Bongiorno II (Whitney), of Orlando, FL.
Terry is also survived by her siblings, David Hormuth (Kathy Ann) of Tallahassee, FL; Becky Dunn (Dr. Richard) of Maitland, FL; Tim Hormuth (Judy) of Tampa, FL; Beth Rossetter (Thomas) of Maitland, FL; and Kathy Lynn Wood (son, Aaron) of Mascotte, FL.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a favorite part of her life, and Terry spent a lot of time enjoying their company: Grandsons Joshua Tanner (Sarah) of Melbourne, FL, J.B. Bongiorno of Orlando, FL, and Noah Bongiorno of Orlando, FL, and great-granddaughters Avery and Della.
Terry had a long and successful career beginning in 1966 as a telephone operator with Southern Bell, and it continued through the years as the company evolved into AT&T. Terry's career flourished during that time, and she retired as Marketing Manager after 32 years of employment.
Terry and Joe also spent their early retirement years enjoying motorhome travel and saw a good part of the United States during that time. After years of traveling throughout the country, they then bought a condo in North Carolina and spent most of the summer months in the Boone area. They met many people in their Seven Devils community, forming solid friendships that continue to this day. Terry enjoyed reading, sewing and making beautiful quilts, and taking walks.
She will be deeply missed but will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
