Thomas Wayne Abendroth, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 70.

Thomas was born in Michigan on October 2, 1955. He was a devoted father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from July 1974 through July 1977. During his military service, he was deployed for one year and six months during the Vietnam War. His dedication and service to his country will always be remembered and honored.

Outside of his military service and family life, Thomas had many things he enjoyed. He was an avid sports fan who loved football and NASCAR, but one of his favorite pastimes was fishing. He enjoyed the peace of being out on the water and the time spent enjoying one of his favorite hobbies.

Thomas was also an umpire for fast-pitch softball for many years. This was especially meaningful to his daughters, Chrissy and Jenny, who both played the sport and were pitchers. Their dad had a reputation for having a particularly small strike zone when he was behind the plate. It was one of those things that may have driven them crazy at the time, but would eventually become a funny and treasured family memory—one that they will undoubtedly laugh about and remember for years to come.

Thomas is survived by his sister, Debra Porter, His children: Christina McCloud and her husband, Fredreko McCloud; Jennifer Stahl and her husband, Jonathan Stahl; Micheal Abendroth and his wife, Anna Abendroth; and his adopted daughter, Dayna Edwards and her husband, Justin Edwards.

Thomas was a proud grandfather to Victoria Abendroth, Isaiah Abendroth, and Topanga Abendroth. His love for his family and the memories they shared together will remain in their hearts forever.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Magi and they will be laid to rest together at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The graveside service will be held for family and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Mission BBQ in Oviedo. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Thomas, share stories, and celebrate the life he lived.

Though Thomas is no longer with us, his memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, sister, family, and friends. He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.
