Thomas E. Beck, "Mr. Softball",  87 years old of 2298 Nehaul Terrace, The Villages, FL went to be with the Lord on March 13,2016.  He was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1928.  He graduated from Norview High School in 1945.  He then joined the US Marines, served overseas, and later attended Virginia Tech University.  He married the love of his life, Geraldine Bowman on June 12, 1950.  They were married 65 years.  They had two sons, David and Steve, and two daughters, Lynne and Sherry, and was blessed with ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  He worked 38 years in Civil Service and retired in 1983.  He was a fifty year member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 266.  His love for softball lasted over sixty years.  He was a player, a coach, and Commissioner of Softball in the Tidewater area for 14 years.  In 1983 he was inducted into the Softball ASA Hall of Fame.  Tom was a man of God and attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church on Sandbridge Road in Virginia Beach VA.  A memorial service will be held in Virginia Beach.
