Obituary

Thomas E. Lindberg, aka T. Eddy, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida took his flight on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Tommy was 74 years old. He fought a very long & courageous battle over his lifetime with congestive heart issues. Along the way, he also beat prostate cancer even though many doctors said he would not survive the ordeal. Tommy was a survivor and always said: "I have 9 lives!". And indeed, he did.

Tommy loved his wife deeply. Cindy was a rock and always supported Tommy through his medical procedures and trials. But there was also a deep passion and electricity in their relationship. Tommy used to love to pretend he was Ricky Ricardo and scream, "Lucy, I'm Home!" as he would come through the front door.

Tommy exhibited dignity and compassion for others throughout his struggles. Through him, many witnessed the power of humor, laughter and positive mental attitude over the disease that ravaged his body. Despite all the pain Tommy endured, he always had a smile on his lips and a joke at the ready. He was extremely fun to be with and as a result he has many, many enduring friendships.

Tom graduated from Northeastern University with a master's in finance. He had a long career and achieved many difficult distinctions.

Tommy lived life to its fullest! He was born a leader and was always an energetic organizer. He assembled a diverse group of close friends that met for years every Friday. While many of the participants were initially Tommy's friends, deep relationships formed with the other participants over time. He had a way of making everyone feel that they were a part of the gang. He would always take the newest member under his wing and make them pay for lunch.

We are grateful for the wonderful life that Tommy had and felt most privileged to be a part of it. We will miss his strong and confident voice, empathy, with, passion, intelligence, and incredible determination. And we will miss all of his silly and frequently off-color jokes.

Lindberg is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy, daughter Kristin, his granddaughter, Madeline, brother-in-law Steve Mudd and wife Pat, sister-in-law Nancy and Husband Phil, niece Nicole and Nephews Steve, David and Josh.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude's Hospital in his name.
