Thomas Frederick
Luck
Feb 1, 1947 — Jun 18, 2026
Tuesday
Village View Community Church
12:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Thomas “Tom” Frederick Luck entered his heavenly home on June 18, 2026. He was 79 years young.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Luck, his son Jeffrey (Jody), daughter Jennifer, step-son Brian (Monica), step-daughter Laura (Matt), 13 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and his brothers William and Ronald Luck.
Tom graduated from Heritage High School in Richmond, Va. in 1965. He went on to enlist in the USAF as a Missile Guidance & Control Technician. He later worked under contract with Hayes Int’l, RCA, Navidyne, G.E., Raytheon and Science & Technology in support of NASA’s space program, aeronautics research & aerospace technology.
Tom accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized at Glen Allen Baptist Church as a young teen. At the age of 30 he recommitted his life to Christ and sought to deepen his walk with the Lord. He was active in several church small groups, cooked breakfast for the men’s group, ushered, participated in Discipleship Walks and gave to missions. It was his custom to begin each day with coffee and devotions.
Tom had a zest for life. He loved nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and seeing the fruits of his labor. He lettered in track and pole-vaulted in school. He became an amateur photographer. He was a member of the Appalachian Trail Club and helped maintain its trails. When Tom lived in The Villages he was a member of The “E” Flyers remote control airplane club. He liked to canoe on Sleepy Lake with his dog Alfie and the grandkids. He also enjoyed flying and doing tricks with his “stunt” kite. Tom met his wife Beth while exhibiting his stunt kite skills at the beach. She was evidently impressed as they were married 5 weeks later! As of August they would have been married 35 years. He will be deeply missed.
