Thomas A. Manning, age 87, died August 12, 2026 in The Villages, FL. He was born June 30, 1939 in Constableville, NY, the second child of Jesse and Nancy Manning. He was raised on the Remsen Family Farm and graduated in 1957 from Remsen Central School. He continued his education and earned an Applied Science Associates Degree in Business Management from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1960. Thomas then earned a BS Degree in Accounting from Syracuse University in 1969.
Thomas served in the New York State National Guard 105th Company. He was inducted into the regular US Army during the Berlin Wall Crisis and Vietnam Era. He served in Fort Benning, GA as an MP.
Upon returning from the military, he was employed by Grand Union Super Markets as General Manager. He worked for UNIVAC in the Utica, NY, Cost Accounting Department. In 1979, Thomas and Lucille Baiamonte were united in marriage. Tom in 1972, began his career with New York State in general accounting until his retirement in 1997.
Thomas is survived by his sisters Nancy Wheeler and Joyce Tatham; along with numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son Thomas Darryl Manning; brother Richard Manning; nephew Todd Tatham; and Lucille Manning.
He enjoyed working with groups of people before and after retirement and was well liked by his friends and associates. Tom and Lucy were always available to help other people and animals whenever the need arose. He will greatly missed by all who knew him.
Due to Thomas' wishes there are no public calling hours. There will be a graveside service at Penn Mountain Cemetery, Remsen, NY for inurnment.
