Obituary

Thomas A. Milano, beloved husband of Mary Milano, died on April 18, 2016 at his home in John Knox Village, Orange City, Florida at the age of 88.

Tom was born in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the Sea Bees in World War II. He lived in Huntington, New York for most of his adult life, where he and his wife, Mary, owned and operated the award-winning restaurant, Glynn's Inn.

He retired to Boca Raton in 1973. He and his wife were avid golfers and belonged to the Boca Hotel, Boca Point and Hamlet Country Clubs. They moved to the Sugar Mill Country Club in New Smyrna Beach in 1984, and then to John Knox Village in 2012.

He and his wife were members of St. Ann's Catholic Parish and were very active in the Catholic Cursillo movement and its ecumenical equivalent.

Tom and Mary compiled a popular daily column for the New Smyrna Beach Observer, "A Teaspoon of Spiritual Nourishment". They had a passion for cruising and wrote reviews of their more than 50 cruises. They had a very popular web page and were contributing editors to one of the top cruise pages on the Internet. Mary and Tom also had a ministry of sending to their large following each morning, "Tom and Mary's 'A Thought to Start Your Day'".

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Tom Milano of Detroit, MI; two daughters, Barbara Sroka of New Rochelle, NY and Nancy Barlas of Istanbul, Turkey; a sister, Rose Herring of Myrtle Beach, SC; and five grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the music program at St. Ann's Catholic Parish.
