Thomas Gary Summey, age 76, of Edgewater, FL peacefully passed away with family by his side on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jan Summey, his son David Summey and wife Alexa and granddaughter Ellie of Ft. Worth, TX, son Bryan Summey of Orlando, FL, daughter Bridgette Palmer, granddaughter Halee Palmer, and grandson Zachary Palmer of Orlando, FL.

Gary was born and raised in Black Mountain, NC.  He served honorably in the Marine Corps and was discharged on February 20, 1967.  Gary was preceded in death by his father Tom Summey, mother Sarah Zellner, and sister Beth McNally.

Gary was a great family man and a loving father.  He was a small business owner and retired in 2009.  He enjoyed volunteering with the Volusia County Sheriff's Department in the Citizen Observer Program (COP).

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, 11/8/22 at Coronado Community United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.  The family would like to thank Pastor Macon Armistead of Coronado and close family friend Pastor Hank Hollar of Little River, SC.
