Thomas “Tom” J. Mizerek, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 in Ocala, Florida. He was born on July 7, 1945, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Joseph and Helen (Krajewski) Mizerek, who preceded him in death.

Tom graduated from Middlesex High School, class of 1963. After graduation, he received his BS in Accounting from Rider University and later, in 1994, earned his Master’s in Business Administration from FAU. As a licensed CPA, he worked for several companies such as Loren Industries and Corporate Express as their financial officers and VP of Finance.

When Tom was not working, you could find him out on his boat, baiting a hook  and waiting for the fish to bite. He also spent many hours trading stocks and creating a portfolio that he was very proud of. During his “retirement” years he and Diane traveled to London, Greece, Alaska, Rome, and went on numerous cruises. He also had many “retirement” jobs including SummerGlen HOA treasurer and was the chairman of the finance committee at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane (Stankovitz) Mizerek; his children and their families; Cheryl (Scott) Fisher and their children, Jordyn, Alex, and Ryan; Wendy (Bill) McAuliffe and their children, Braden, Adam, Owen, Addyson and Brenna (deceased); and Kevin (Wendy) Mizerek and their children, Maya and Austin. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Bruno, Dorothy Roessner and Kenneth (Sue) Mizerek.

His legacy will live on forever through the many stories he shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

A church service of remembrance will be held at 10am Monday, June 8th at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 SE US HWY 301, Belleview, FL. All of those he loved and touched deeply, please join us in celebrating his life at noon on June 8th at the SummerGlen Community Grand Hall in Ocala, Florida.

We are celebrating a life well-lived. Please avoid black and wear your favorite bright, cheerful colors.
