Obituary

The University of Miami football team lost its biggest fan on October 19, 2026, when Tim passed away peacefully under hospice care in The Villages, Florida, at the age of 81.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Tim was a kind, loving, and devoted family man whose life was filled with the people and activities he cherished most. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Kaye); his daughters, Laura (Brian) of South Florida and Connie (Karen) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Lee (Jenny) and Jacob (Gabe); and his great-granddaughter, Emily. He was preceded in death by his son, John (Dee), whom he held dear in his heart.

Tim found joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured time spent with family and friends. His faith and church were important parts of his life, as were his beloved University of Miami football team, car racing, and playing cards with family and friends. A devoted racing enthusiast, Tim attended the Gator Nationals drag races every March since 1990, making it a cherished annual tradition.

Tim also had a special talent for making the holidays magical. He especially loved decorating the house for Christmas and took great pride in setting up his elaborate Christmas village each year. Affectionately named “Timmy Town,” the village had its very own mayor—Tim himself. This beloved tradition reflected his playful spirit and the happiness he found in creating special memories for those he loved.

Tim was especially proud of his membership in the Lions Club, where he found fulfillment in serving others. He particularly enjoyed helping visually impaired golfers, an expression of his generous heart and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Tim will be remembered for his kindness, his love for his family, his many friendships, and the enthusiasm he brought to the things that mattered most to him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created, the traditions he cherished, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Tim’s life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at: The United Church of Christ at The Villages, 12514 CR 101, Oxford, FL 34484.

In true Tim fashion, may he be remembered with love, laughter, a deck of cards, the roar of race cars, and a big cheer for the Miami Hurricanes. He will be forever loved and dearly missed.
