Toby George Recla, 82, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on May 21, 2026. He spread laughter to many with his unique sense of humor and mischievous fun. He was truly one of a kind and he will be deeply missed.

He was born in Riverside, CA. As part of an Army family, he grew up in multiple states and Germany. Toby was a gifted athlete as exemplified by being the winning pitcher of the military's little league world series. He served in the Army in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam.

Toby worked as a foreman of multiple mason crews at Curbline Construction of Lakewood, NJ. He also cofounded RAFT Home Improvement in Topsail Island, NC.

Toby enjoyed skiing and boating with his good friends and travelling to a wide range of destinations including Europe and America's National Parks with his wife, Andrea. He was also a renowned cat whisperer.

Toby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Andrea (Bolognini) Recla, his son Adam Recla and his wife Allison, his grandchildren Ryan, Elizabeth, and Annabelle Recla, his sister-in-law Janice Recla, and nieces Michele Liebtag and Nicola Fischer. He was predeceased by his parents Tobias and Arlene (Brown) Recla and brother Coy Recla.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
